What If I Get An Error That says that the (USB) Driver Needs To Be Installed?

If you keep getting an error each time you boot the computer you probably need to take the actions described below. Do not attempt to use the wizard to automatically install this driver. You will just be wasting your time.

Normally this is caused you have an older version of the operating system. If you have either the original version of XP Home or Professional you may get this error. You MUST update to Service pack (2) two.

Where do you find these updates?

You need to click on start. Then All Programs. You should now see "Windows Update" at the top. Click on it so that you can go to the Microsoft web site. Once you in the site let it analyze you computer. You may get a protection bar at the top of the screen. If so click on it and allow it to install ActiveX. Keep doing this until it updates you to Service Pack 2. There are numerous updates so it may take several tries. You can also do Service Pack 3 if you want to. You will need to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect. Now see if you still have the error. Most likely this solved the problem.

This will normally solves your problem. In the event it does not you may need to check with the motherboard manufacture to see if you have a driver missing or if the mother board is defective. The manufactures web site will normally have all the drivers and updates you need.
